Pegged Orders
Excitingly, the latest release includes pegged orders; a latency minimising, efficient way to place liquidity on order books. And in the words of Barney;
Pegged orders will accelerate the shift from stop-gap pure AMM dexs to order book based and hybrid solutions by allowing markets built with Vega to offer more capital efficiency for liquidity providers and better price determination.
To learn more about what they are, how they are implemented, and when to use them, check out this blog from Pete Barrow, Vega core engineer. And for a chance to put theory to practice check it out for yourself in the Vega Testnet, using the APIs. If you have any feedback, want any support or simply want to come and hang out, drop by the Vega Testnet Jam between 6 and 7 GMT on Thursday. Add it to your calendar here; we’ll also drop the zoom link in Discord.
Introducing Vega ERC20 Bridge & Webinar
“Cry a river. Build a bridge. Get over it.” -Unknown
Whilst I can't promise the Vega 🌉 Ethereum bride will catch tears, it will enable the free flow of deposits and withdrawals of Ethereum-based ERC20 tokens. This means that markets created on Vega will have access to the $182,176,811,569 currently held in Ethereum, WBTC, Tether, DAI, USDC (though of course it's all testnet assets in the meantime).
To learn more about the bridge architecture, design choices, and how it solves for decentralised noncustody, join Vega co-founder Barney and bridge builder/engineer Danny tomorrow at 6pm GMT for a deep-dive webinar.
To prep for asking all the questions, check out Danny's blog here.
Release v0.30.0
Both the bridge work and pegged orders are part of release 0.30.0. Other fun news includes that bridge block confirmations can be changed via governance and the swap to Buf for protocol workflow. For the full release notes check out the forum post.
Community Call
