Vega x Hack the System
Vega is sponsoring Encode's Hack the System hackathon! The hack starts this week, lasts until the end of May and is still accepting applications. Vega has set two challenges;
Build a profitable trading bot. £100 GBP for each successful team
Build a dApp on Vega ie a leaderboard that compares the performance of traders, a tool for traders to visualise or manage risk and trading data, apps for market makers or the governance community. We've set a prize pool here at 10K and encourage creative solutions!

API Clients now Available
In the vein of building on Vega, there are now more resources to help you do just that. There is now a new open Github repo containing Vega's protobuf files and API clients in various languages. Protobufs are the fastest way to connect to a Vega node meaning you can make performant apps mith minimal latency. Learn how to get started in this blog by Vega Engineering.
Community Call #7
Tune into Vega Community Call #8 this Tuesday at 4pm GMT to hear about the upcoming launch of Vega Fairground, a release full of surprises. DeFi Demystified
MaMa Global are launching a new interactive webinar series aimed at demystifying DeFi for Traditional Finance. Each session will feature three DeFi projects and be moderated by Mona El Isa (Enzyme) and the first one features Vega's own Tamlyn Rudolph, Mounir Benchemled from Paraswap and Fran Strajnar from Techemy Holistic Index.
