Deconstructing_Vega: Staking🌽
Klaus Kursawe (Vega Blockchain Researcher), has been researching blockchain-based systems since the early 2000s which is why we're so excited whenever he releases an article giving his thoughts on mechanism design and implementation. In his latest articles, Beyond Staking: An Aphoristic design to stakes and rewards (& Part 2), Klaus details how one should go about designing incentivised staking policies to best govern an ecosystem. Once established, he then speaks on the implementation. These factors are considered to ensure “non-whaling”, “non-fragmentation”, “diversity”, and “performance”. If the articles whet your appetite for staking, see Klaus and Danny discuss the topic in more depth below:
Community Call #8 - 2021 Roadmap🛣
This month’s Community Call took place last week and was filled with juice 😋. Barney, Vega Founder, took the community through the 2021 Vega Roadmap. He outlined the upcoming Flamenco Tavern release of the Vega testnet (the biggest feature release since testnet became public in 2020). This was coupled with new information on liquidity mining, network validators, the Vega website, and all the other juicy things (tokens🎈) that the community have been asking for over on Discord/Telegram.
Testnet Jam - Revamp🍯🍯🍯
Recently, the Vega core team have been wondering how best to educate the community whilst troubleshooting any roadblocks they may have with regard to the testnet. After a little brainstorming, Testnet Jam now has a new format: a demonstration live-streamed on Twitch followed by personalised troubleshooting and Q&A on Zoom. This allows us to demonstrate the newest features of testnet followed by the opportunity for the community to try them out in real-time alongside the team!
Want to attend? Testnet Jam🍯 occurs every Thursday, 6pm BST, on the Vega Twitch!
Encode & Vega - DeFi Education Series📚
Vega is co-participating in a series alongside Aave and CoinMarketCap, organised by Encode Club. The goal is to educate students and hackers about Decentralised Finance (DeFi). The events go through the main building blocks of DeFi, how to correctly utilise them, as well as common mistakes to avoid! A key part of Vega is educating the community on the innovative applications of decentralised finance and this collaboration is a wonderful step in actualising that vision.
The most recent event took place on May 8th; all previous sessions are available on the Vega YouTube Presentations Playlist.
Vega Metric Insight
March has been the single greatest month of growth for the Vega Project thus far! 🥳The Telegram server has opened, while both Discord and Twitter have more than doubled their membership. We’re thankful for the continued engagement and are committed to providing amazing content as we build out the project alongside the vibrant community that surrounds it.
Keep buidling, testing, and everything in between
