🛠Open DeFi Hackathon - Last Chance!🛠
Gitcoin’s Open DeFi Hackathon has now been running for a few weeks and the challenges are quickly wrapping up. As a quick reminder, Vega have challenged builders to create a simple and creative front-end, giving traders easy access to markets using the Vega APIs.
This is the final week to get submissions in, with all bounties expiring on May 23rd! 🐱🏍 On May 28th, 10AM EST, the Open DeFi DAO Day will take place wherein the best hackathon projects will have the chance to present their creations. Whether you’re submitting a project or curious to see what others have made, make sure to Sign Up and add the event to your calendars. Until then, keep building! 🔨🔨🔨
🎓How to Get Hired in DeFi 🎓
If you’ve been missing Encode’s DeFi Club’s series, then make sure you catch up with this curated playlist of events! Last week, Christina, Vega Ecosystem Le, spoke in a presentation on Getting Hired in DeFi:

🎙Interview🎙: DeFi Derivatives with Barney Mannerings
Earlier this week, Vega Founder, Barney Mannerings spoke with Miko Matsumura on his show Mikobits about Vega, Front-running, and Exchange Fairness! ⚖ Barney provides the audience with a future vision for fairness, exchange, and how capital efficiency can be used to unbundle risk and create a better world for derivatives trading. 🎢Taking a ride on the Vega Fairground🎢
With the rebirth of Vega’s testnet as Fairground now complete, more and more people have been taking a ride on the Vega Testnet. Head to fairground.wtf to investigate all of the new functionality and plans for the future of the Vega Fairground!
Note: Vega would like to re-emphasise that Testnet links are now "console.fairground.wtf" as opposed to "testnet.vega.trading" (although currently both links go to the same place)
For both new and old community members we host a weekly Vega Testnet Jam where we learn something new you can do on testnet, go through what's just released and offer support. Sign up here and catch the previous sessions on the Vega Youtube. In addition to this, Candida, Vega's User Advocate, has put together a useful list of common questions we get about Vega Console.
And that’s all for this update!
