Community Update #7
Content from Deconstructing Derivatives, 7 top features for pro traders and order book designs.
Hello and good afternoon,
Thanks to everyone who tuned into 'Deconstructing Derivatives'. The event was really fun and it was great to e-meet community members and other projects alike :) All the content from the day is now available (see playlist below). To recap, the content progressed in complexity throughout the day and we started with an introduction about derivatives with the all Meta Gamma Delta filled panel from Tamlyn, Rafaella (Pods) and me and ended with industry champions Mona el Isa, David Nuelle, Stani Kulechov and Tamlyn musing about the future of the space. There were 8 other sessions in between and I couldn't recommend all of them enough, again huge thanks to everyone participating. We’re already planning our next deconstructing event 💡
Other news from the Vega ecosystem.
Tamlyn, Vega’s Head of Markets and Strategy worked 15 years as an energy derivatives trader before she joined the decentralised realm and co-founded Vega. Given her (and the rest of the teams) background Vega's design seeks to blend the best components of traditional and decentralised finance in order to give traders a experience that supersedes what is currently possible. In this blogpost Tamlyn elaborates on the top 7 aspects of Vega's design that does just this. Some of the key features includes automated cross margining, one single price taker fee and anti-frontrunning protection at consensus layer 🔥
Calling all traders! How do you want to see your order book? Michael, UX designer at Vega is working on how we're displaying market depth in Vega Console (our in-house UI) Check out this thread in our forum to view, contest and/or applaud his proposals. He's specifically keen to know how you use the state of the order book to inform your trading.
We're still running weekly sessions onboarding people to the private testnet. Please sign up here if you want to get set up on the Vega testnet, access to the docs and get ready for trading.
Have a lovely weekend,
Christina :)
