š Markets have migrated to Arbitrum š§” Hereās the latest at Vega:
1. Colosseo Part I - Blog š
Validators have successfully deployed Colosseo I on the Vega network, introducing spot markets, a new asset bridge to Arbitrum, and more ā explore the full upgrade details here!
New Asset Bridge to Arbitrum: Colosseo I introduces the Vega <> Arbitrum bridge, enabling seamless asset transfers with lower gas fees and faster transaction finality. This integration supports Squid Router for cross-chain deposits.
Spot Markets: Vega now supports spot markets for buying and selling assets without leverage. Users can create these markets using Vega's permissionless market creation feature, detailed in the Vega docss. Spot trading is accessible via Console's order book trading UI and an intuitive āUniswap-styleā interface.

2. Market Migration - Arbitrum USDT š¹
Proposals VMP-48 and VMP-49 have successfully passed on-chain voting! Created and voted on by the Vega community, these proposals focus on migrating existing perpetual markets to using Arbitrum USDT as the settlement asset. The affected markets include: SUI/USDT, LDO/USDT, ARB/USDT, TIA/USDT, SNX/USDT, INJ/USDT, ETH/USDT, BTC/USDT, SOL/USDT.
3. New Market Listings - 1000 PEPE, VEGA (Spot) ) šÆ
The community has introduced 2 new markets on Vega:
1000PEPE/USDT (PERP) š“āā ļø
VEGA/USDT (SPOT) š“āā ļø
These markets were proposed and approved via on-chain governance, enabling the community to engage in long or short trades ā Access permissionless perpetual futures markets on Vega š¹
4. Euro Bets - Fairground Incentives! š
Introducing prediction markets on Vega! The next release will allow for this innovative market on Vega's fully decentralized protocol. As always, the fun starts on Fairground first! One of the exciting new markets is Eurobet, where you can bet on the outcomes of Euro 2024 games.
If you took part in the latest incentive, keep an eye out for some UI updates that will make your experience even better. This new market type will empower Vega network users to create and engage in prediction markets, unlocking a world of decentralised possibilities. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the mainnet release!
5. Tech Update #37 - Colosseo II š¤
One of the most exciting new features is Prediction Markets (Capped Futures). This innovation allows the creation of prediction markets that settle based on the outcome of specific events. Currently being tested with markets based on the Euros 2024 Group stage matches, Capped Futures are set to debut on the mainnet soon, showcasing Vega's flexibility in adding new market types. In response to potential extended block times, the Engineering Team are developing Long Block Auctions. This feature will protect market positions during these periods by triggering a protective auction, ensuring traders and market-makers can safeguard their positions effectively. The work on vAMMs is progressing well. The team is nearing the end of the development tunnel, with the protocol and matching engine enhancements complete and undergoing rigorous testing. The current focus is on making vAMMs easily queryable and well-presented across all APIs š§®
